Solar Flux -EO-S-011

EO‑S‑011 is distinguished by its mixed alcohol/water solvent. This composition widens the activation window, making it particularly tolerant to preheat temperature fluctuations. It contains dicarboxylic acids and a resin additive that improves wetting on screen‑printed silver contacts. It is halogen‑free and leaves dry residues

Chemical insight
The presence of water modifies the evaporation kinetics, giving the activators more time to react, even when the thermal profile varies. The dicarboxylic acids offer good oxide‑removing power with low corrosivity. The resin additive promotes flux spreading on busbars without leaving sticky residues.

Technical description for the solar industry:
A flux formulated for soldering solar modules, interconnection ribbons (tabber & stringer) and cell connections. Its formulation makes it compatible with the stringing/tabbing lines used for advanced cell technologies (TOPCon, HJT, XBC, tandems).

Formulation and compliance:
No clean and halogen free formulation, compliant with standards ISO 9454: 2231 / DIN EN 61190 1 1 (J STD 004 : ORL0). Optimised to maintain the effectiveness of its activators at the high temperatures involved in PV module manufacturing, without leaving sticky residues.

Recommended use:
Versatile and OPS compatible flux. Excellent performance in manual, wave or selective soldering, as well as for wire tinning. Apply the minimum deposition rule to limit residues while ensuring reliable wetting of MBB ribbons and silver busbars.

Appearance: Transparent liquid, colourless to slightly yellow.
Solvent base: Short‑chain alcohols with deionised (DI) water – a lower environmental impact formulation.
Solids content: 1.9 – 2.2 %
Density: 0.86 – 0.88 g/ml at 20 °C.
Acid number: 16 – 19 mg KOH/g (enhanced activity).
Activation system: Complex of carboxylic and di‑carboxylic acids with a resin/rosin additive. 0% halogens.
Reliability: Completely free from corrosive action, essential for the long‑term durability of interconnections in glass‑glass and bifacial modules.

Practical reference parameters

Flux for BGA rework | No Clean

Spray‑fluxing: Start at 30–50 ml/min with an air flow rate of 18–20 l/min, adjusting according to distribution.
Preheating: Recommended board temperature: 80–110 °C (standard), which can be raised to 100–140 °C for lead‑free alloys. Compatible with the thermal profiles of automated PV lines.

Product summary

SOLAR FLUX EO S 011 is a halide free, no clean solar flux with 2% solids and an aqueous formulation. Designed for the high temperature soldering of next generation PV cells and modules (TOPCon, HJT, XBC, tandems), it guarantees excellent wettability without sticky residues or corrosion, making it an ideal solution for automated stringing/tabbing lines and durable bifacial modules.
