Description

No Clean Solar Flux – EO-S-009

Specially formulated for the solar industry, EO‑S‑009 is an alcohol‑based flux, halogen‑free, classified ORL0 according to IPC J‑STD‑004. Its solids content is low (approximately 1.8 %). The activators are designed for the high temperatures encountered during the soldering of photovoltaic modules. It is suitable for wave, selective and manual soldering, as well as for tabber & stringer processes.

  • SOLAR FLUX-EO-S-009 is a professional no-clean flux engineered specifically for soldering processes in solar module manufacturing.
    It ensures excellent solder wetting, minimizes oxidation, and provides stable electrical connections without leaving harmful residues on photovoltaic cells.
  • Solar / PV Cell Oriented DescriptionA flux for the solar industry (Solar Flux) formulated for soldering photovoltaic modules, tabber & stringer ribbons and cell interconnections, compatible with automated stringing/tabbing lines used for TOPCon, HJT, XBC or tandem cells.

No-clean, halogen-free formulation (ISO 9454: 2231 / DIN EN 61190 1 1 J STD 004 : ORL0, IPC ORL0) designed for the high temperatures in solar module manufacturing without loss of activator effectiveness and without sticky residue after soldering.

Chemical insight
The dicarboxylic acids used effectively remove oxides without attacking sensitive cell materials. The resin additive ensures uniform wetting while keeping residues dry and non‑sticky.

Appearance: colorless to slightly yellow transparent liquid, based on short-chain alcohols, with a solids content of approximately 1.8% (1.7–1.9%), density 0.790–0.796 g/ml at 20 °C, acid number 14–18 mg KOH/g.

Activation system

Use and PV Cell Soldering Processes

Versatile OPS compatible flux, delivering very good results in manual, wave or selective soldering, as well as for cable assembly / wire tinning, following the rule of minimal deposition to limit residues while ensuring optimal wetting of tinned copper ribbons and silver busbars.

Practical Recommendations

for spray fluxing, start at 30–50 ml/min with 18–20 l/min of air and adjust according to distribution, with preheating of the board between 80–110 °C (up to 100–140 °C for lead free alloys), making it compatible with current thermal profiles of automated PV lines.

Short Product Sheet Formulation

SOLAR FLUX EO S 009, according to these different versions (6209-6268-6269-6270_EO-S-009 (2.5, B, C)) and fast dry option, is a halide free, no clean liquid flux designed for soldering modern photovoltaic cells and modules (TOPCon, HJT, XBC, tandems) on MBB ribbons and stringers.
